Ilari "Ziigmund" Sahamies games at the high stakes tables has been like a roller coaster lately. Some days he wins big and others he lose big. Some people think that his new date, Miss Finland, could be one of the reasons for this when others think that he's just running cold at the moment. However, between 8-9 September Ziigmund had a great run and won $740,000 in just about 1,000 hands. It will be interesting to see whether or not Ziigmund can keep it up and start playing more stable and avoid the big swings.

Not less than 3,397 players paid $200+$16 and entered the $750,00 Guarantee tournament at Full Tilt Poker last Sunday. After many, many hours of play the tournament was down to a final table, a final table which included no one else than online legend Shaun Deeb who has an FTOPS title and several major scores in his resume already.

Deeb played fantastic poker before the final table and it was easy to see that many of his final table opponents avoided to play against him. After a couple of hours he also stood as the champion with $132,787 to add to his Full Tilt bankroll.

Miss Finland - Ziigmund's new date

Tags: Ilari ziigmund Sahamies, miss finland, Viivi Pumpanen.
Posted on Monday, September 06, 2010 by "T".

Ilari "ziigmund" Sahamies is not only known for being one of the world's best poker players but also for being a real charmer who's dating lots of beautiful women. He dated, for example, the finnish model Hanna-Leena Turpeinen a while ago. But things are moving fast in Ziigmund's life and now he has someone else "on the hook". According to the finnish magazine Seiska, Ilari "ziigmund" Sahamies and Viivi Pumpanen, 22, were seen together in Ziigmund's Mercedes in central Helsinki not long ago.

When a journalist of the magazine asked Ziigmund if he's dating Miss Finland at the moment, he didn't deny it at the same time as he asked the journalist, with a slightly worried tone in his voice, if he had any pictures of them together.

EPT Vilamoura: Daniel Negreanu wins Fairways and Felts Challenge

Tags: Daniel Negreanu, EPT Vilamoura, Fairways and Felt.
Posted on Monday, September 06, 2010 by "T".

14 players paid the buy-in of €1,100 and entered the Fairways and Felts Challenge the other day. These 14 players were divided into teams on the Pinhal Golf Course and received poker chips accordingly to how well they did. After a hard day on the golf course all of them sat down at the poker table with the chips they had accumulated.

After 5 hours of poker Daniel Negreanu stood as the champion after defeating Pieter de Korver (also a PokerStars Pro) in heads up. For the win Daniel received the first place prize of 8,000 Euro. Not a lot of money for someone like Daniel Negreanu, but I'm still sure that he was really happy with the win since the Fairways and Felts Challenge was one of the main reason he came to play EPT Vilamoura.
